Starke County Plan Commission to meet Wednesday March 25

The Starke County Plan Commission has announced it will hold a public meeting on Wednesday, March 25th. The meeting is scheduled to begin at 5:30pm Central Time and will take place at the Starke County Annex number 1 Meeting Room, located at 53 East Mound Street in Knox.

The New Business section of the agenda has discussions on four different resolutions, all of which include a presentation of the drafted Findings of Fact.

The full resolution numbers are not yet included on the agenda, though all four resolutions are in regards to the regulation and restriction of:

  • Commercial and Utility-Scale Solar Energy Systems
  • Commercial Data Centers
  • Commercial Battery Energy Storage Systems
  • Carbon Capture and Sequestration Infrastructure

Each discussion will review items such as legislative records, impacts and hazards, emergency capabilities, and comprehensive plans in regards to the four topics listed above.

The board will hold discussion and potentially vote to adopt and sign each of the four resolutions.

After a section of the meeting set aside for public comment and board comment, the meeting will be adjourned.

All interested persons will have the opportunity to be heard, and any written statements that are submitted prior to the meeting will be included in the official record.
