Voter registration deadline approaching; Poll workers needed for upcoming election

The Starke County Election Office would like to remind citizens that April 6th is the deadline to register to vote in the upcoming Primary Election.

Those wishing to register, or update their registration can do so multiple ways: Through the online Indiana Voter Portal found here, by mail, or in person at the Starke County Clerk’s Office, which is located in the Starke County Courthouse.

Additionally, the Election Office is seeking dedicated poll workers to help out on Election Day.

Poll workers are essential to help ensure that elections run smoothly and fairly.

A poll worker’s duties may include assisting voters, checking voters in, helping operate voting equipment, and maintaining an orderly polling location.

Poll workers will receive training prior to Election Day, and will be compensated for their time.

The Starke County Election Office encourages all eligible citizens to register to vote, stay informed about local issues and candidates, and participate in the upcoming Primary election. The Election Office states that voting is one of the most important ways citizens can participate in their government; as local elections directly impact schools, infrastructure, public safety, and community services.

Those interested in registering to vote through the Clerk’s Office, or serving as a poll worker, should reach out for more information.
