An announcement from the City of Knox yesterday shares that the City’s Water Department crews will begin flushing fire hydrants in the evenings, from 9pm – 5am Central Time throughout the city, beginning Sunday April 5th.
The flushing will continue in the evenings through Thursday, April 9th.
The announcement notes that as a result of the hydrant flushing, citizens’ tap water may appear brown or yellow. The city states that the water is safe to drink and can be cleared up by running cold water from a bathtub or outside faucet.
