According to a press release from the office of State Representative Kendell Culp (R-Rensselaer), Culp recently honored Knox Community High School’s Myles McLaughlin with a House District Declaration for his record-breaking season on the football field.
The release states that as a running back for the team last season, McLaughlin set national single-season records for rushing yards (4,846) and rushing touchdowns (71). He was named 2025 Indiana Mr. Football and the state’s Gatorade Player of the Year in football, helping lead Knox to the Class 3A semi-state championship.
McLaughlin has signed to play football at Murray State University next season.
“Congratulations to Myles for an outstanding season and amazing statewide and national recognition,” Culp said. “Breaking both state and national records, we are all excited to see what he will do in the next phase of his football career.”
Mr. Football is awarded annually to the top Hoosier high school football athlete. The Gatorade Player of the Year award is given to student athletes exemplifying success both on and off the field.
A House District Declaration is a local award presented to Hoosiers in House District 16 who serve their community with high distinction and positively impact the lives of others.
