Nominations open for Mint Festival Father/Grandfather of the Year

The North Judson Mint Festival announced yesterday that nomination applications are open for its Father or Grandfather of the year contest.

Students who live in Starke County, or within one of the three school corporations across the county are eligible to enter this essay contest, sharing why their father or grandfather should win Father or Grandfather of the year. Nominees must also be residents of Starke County.

Essays must be handwritten, with the child’s age taken into consideration when judging. Winning essay writers will receive $50, with the winning father or grandfather to receive $25 and a plaque.

The winning father or grandfather will be recognized during the Mint Festival’s opening ceremony at 5pm Central Time on Friday, June 19th at the band stage in Norwayne Field.

Winning father/grandfather and essay writer will also participate in the Mint Festival parade on Sunday, June 21st.
