The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office reports that early on Sunday morning, their deputies responded to a reported domestic assault.
A female victim with visible injuries was found on scene. She was safely removed from the residence, treated by Pulaski County EMS, and then transported to Pulaski Memorial Hospital for further care.
In the meantime, the suspect attempted to evade capture by hiding in a trailer and barricading himself inside. Deputies, along with Winamac Police, deployed a K9 unit and used drones while repeatedly urging the suspect to peacefully surrender. After securing a warrant, officers entered the trailer, where the suspect was found hiding under a couch.
The suspect assaulted officers and the K9, Tiko, before being subdued and taken into custody. The suspect was also transported to the hospital for treatment.
He is currently being held pending investigation and formal charges.
