The Starke County Economic Development Foundation announced that it recently made a donation to the Knox Middle School PTO.
The donation is for $1,500 and will go towards an outdoor play and learning space the PTO has been fundraising for.
The goal of the PTO has been to raise $50,000 by April 1st, in order to receive a matching grant from the Indiana Housing and Development Commission.
According to the online donation page, found here, the project has exceeded its goal and raised $54,832, meaning that the project will receive the matching grant money and the project can move forward as planned.
The outdoor space is set to feature a pavilion and play equipment for 5th – 8th grade students, with construction planned for this summer.
