The Starke County Community Foundation awarded a $2,000 grant to Science Central from the Hardesty Memorial Endowment to support hands-on STEM education opportunities for local students.
Through Science Central’s Science4U educational programs, students in kindergarten through 12th grade participated in engaging science experiences including outreach labs and demonstrations, field trips, Science2Go kits, and virtual learning opportunities. Programs are designed to make science approachable, interactive, and fun while reinforcing classroom learning and state education standards.
Funding helped provide STEM programming to students throughout Starke County, including visits to schools, libraries, and youth-serving organizations such as Oregon-Davis Elementary, Starke County Youth Club, and San Pierre Public Library. In total, more than 100 students participated in hands-on science experiences that encouraged curiosity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
