
The La Porte County Health Department has announced a series of free CPR classes to be held throughout the month of June.
The classes are open to community members and are part of La Porte County’s continued efforts to become designated as a HEARTSafe Community; or a community that has implemented measures to improve survival rates from sudden cardiac arrest.
The first of these free CPR classes will take place on Saturday, June 6th from 8am to noon at the La Porte Fire Station number 1, located at 809 West 18th Street.
There will be another free CPR training on Friday June 12th, at Creek Ridge County Park from 10am – 2pm.
The following day, Saturday, June 13th, there will be another free CPR training at the La Porte County Family YMCA, to take place from 8am – 1pm.
There will be two free CPR classes on Wednesday, June 24th at the La Porte Fire Station #1; the first class will run from 8am – noon, and the second class will run from noon – 4pm.
Finally, there will be a free CPR class at Luhr County Park in La Porte on June 26th, from 10am to 2pm.
These free classes have limited spots and pre-registration is required; links can be found online at the LaPorte County Health Department’s website and social media.
