
The Starke County Plan Commission will be holding a public meeting next Wednesday, May 13th.
The meeting is scheduled to take place at 5:30pm Central Time at the Annex 1 Meeting Room at 53 East Mound Street in Knox.
Under the Old Business section of the agenda, the Plan Commission will be discussing a draft ordinance in regards to commercial and utility-scale solar energy systems, or CSES. If the board reaches a consensus the draft might be approved and scheduled for a public hearing.
The same can be said for the draft ordinance in regards to Commercial Batter Energy Storage Systems, or BESS: Plan commissioners will discuss changes to the ordinance and if they reach consensus the draft may be approved and scheduled for public hearing.
The final discussion under old business is in regards to repealing the 2016 Permit Fee Schedule and adopting a new schedule of fees.
Under the New Business section of the agenda, Plan Commission will discuss animal nuisances in residentially developed zones, and agriculture building permit fee exemptions.
There will be a section of the meeting for public and board comment before the meeting is adjourned.
