Temporary water shut-off in Parkview Heights in Knox tomorrow

The City of Knox’s Utility Office has made an announcement for residents of Parkview Heights.

According to the announcement, the water service to Parkview Heights in Knox will be temporarily shut off tomorrow, Thursday May 7th.

The shutoff will begin at 9am and is to allow city utility employees to make necessary repairs to provide residents in the area with better water pressure.

The duration of the shut-off will depend on conditions, but the Water Superintendent expects the water service to be restored by 5pm tomorrow.

Water service will be restored once the repair is complete. Once water is turned back on, residents of Parkview Heights should run only the cold water, without a filter, to get out any brown water and debris.

A Boil Water Advisory will be in place at that time for a minimum of 72 hours, or until further notice. Residents will be notified when the Boil Advisory is lifted. The announcement states that a Boil Order Advisory may imply precaution due to the potential or possibility that harmful bacteria may be present during an event.

Please note that water may be discolored after the water service is restored, but it should clear up a short time afterward.

The city thanks citizens in advance for their patience and understanding, and they apologize for any inconveniences this may cause. Those with questions can reach the Utility Office at 574-772-3032.
