The City of Knox Parks and Recreation department will hold a regular board meeting this Thursday, June 18th.
The meeting will be held at the Nancy J. Dembowski Community Center in Knox, located at 55 East Lake Street, and will begin at 5pm Central Time.
After the meeting is opened, members are expected to consider approval of minutes from their May 26th meeting, and financial reports.
Under the New Business section of the agenda, board members will discuss plans to fill in cracks on the pickleball courts. The board will also review a new estimate for basketball court lights after contacting a vendor for pricing.
Board members will discuss making repairs to scoreboards on Fields 1 and 2, after they were reportedly struck by lightning. The agenda indicates that insurance has been notified of the damage, and cost estimates for repairs have been submitted.
The board will discuss putting fencing away for Field 1, getting quotes for pickleball court lighting, and a review of the department’s five-year plan, with a focus on the board’s remaining goals for the year and planning for 2027.
The agenda also notes that Knox’s Fun Day in the Park at Wythogan Park is scheduled for June 27th.
After a section of the meeting set aside for public comment and board member comment, the meeting will be adjourned.
The public is invited to attend this meeting.
