A press release from the Starke County Sheriff’s Office shares that on Saturday, June 27, at approximately 5:52pm Central Time, its deputies were dispatched to the area of County Road 350 W. and County Road 500 S., near North Judson, following a report of an unresponsive individual lying alongside the roadway.
Upon arrival, emergency responders located the individual deceased. Initial responding deputies observed injuries consistent with the individual having been struck by a vehicle.
Deputies also recovered what appeared to be vehicle debris in the roadway near the scene; however, no involved vehicle was present.
Starke County Sheriff’s Detectives responded to process the scene and collect evidence.
Based on evidence recovered during the investigation, investigators believe the suspect vehicle is a black passenger car with front-end damage.
The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
