Marshall-Starke Special Olympics athletes are departing for the 2026 Summer Games on June 11th, and our communities are invited to send them off!
The 2026 Summer Games will be taking place at Indiana State University in Terre Haute from June 12th through 14th. The annual 3-day event will see over 2,400 athletes coming together. Our own local Marshall-Starke Special Olympics athletes will be sending 5 teams to the competition: The powerlifting team, track and field, swim team, bocce, and bowling.
The community is invited to send the teams off to the Summer Games: Their bus will depart from Culver High School on Thursday, June 11th, at 6pm Eastern Time. The bus will head from School Street onto Academy Road, then to Lake Shore Drive, and onto Main Street. Local community members, businesses, and fire, EMS, and police are invited to show support and send the teams off in style. Signs, posters, banners, pom-poms, noise makers, and loud cheers are all welcome as these athletes head off towards the culmination of their hard work and dedication to their teams.
