The 49th annual North Judson Mint Festival is beginning this Friday, June 19th, and there will be no shortage of activities to participate in and attend.
WKVI will be sharing a daily schedule of events for the Mint Festival throughout the week, beginning with today’s list activities for Friday, June 19th; all times listed are Central Time.
This Friday is Family Friday at the Mint Festival, with activities specifically aimed towards little ones from noon to 4pm.
There will be a Kids foam party at the Kids Zone from 1-2pm, and kid karaoke will take place at the event tent on Keller Avenue from 2-3pm.
Official opening ceremonies for the festival will take place at the Norwayne Field Pavilion at 4pm on Friday.
The Car Cruise In will also begin at 4pm, taking place until 8pm at The Point.
At 4:30pm near the Splash Pad will be the unveiling of a new public art installation; a sculpture by artist Angelique Milo that will offer a quiet space in the park for community members to reflect.
Book Bingo will begin at 5pm at the North Judson Methodist Church Hall.
On Friday, the beer garden will be open from 5-11pm at the Norwayne Field next to the stage.
There will be a Video Game Truck in Kids Zone beginning at 5pm.
This year’s Healthy Baby Contest will begin at 6pm at the Keller Avenue Event Tent.
There will be a teen blacklight foam party taking place at 8:30pm on Friday at Kids Zone.
Live music on Friday at the Norwayne Field Stage includes Undiagnosed from 5:15 – 7pm, and The Travellers from 8-11pm.
There will be a Kids Craft Corner and bounce houses available all weekend long, just north of the Library.
The festivities will continue throughout the weekend, with the majority of events to take place Saturday. WKVI will share Saturday’s schedule tomorrow, Wednesday June 16th.
