Weather forecasters are monitoring the potential for thunderstorms coming through our area this week.

Today, forecasters are monitoring a potential two lines of thunderstorms that could be moving toward northwest Indiana by afternoon; if these storms reach our area damaging wind gusts are the primary concern.

There is the possibility of storms moving through on Wednesday afternoon; with damaging winds possible.

Additionally, the National Weather Service in Chicago has issued a Hydrologic Outlook, meaning that there may be flooding possible in northern Illinois and northwest Indiana on Wednesday.

That Outlook states that torrential rainfall could lead to instances of flooding, especially in areas that recently saw flooding impacts or received heavy rainfall.

The outlook means that elevated water levels and potential impacts are possible, but not yet certain.

Citizens should continue to monitor weather alerts and updates in order to stay safe should hazardous weather conditions occur.

At the time of this article, there were no NWS alerts or warnings yet issued for Tuesday or Wednesday in Starke, La Porte, or Pulaski counties.
