The Starke County Humane Society will be providing transfer to an upcoming low-cost spay and neuter clinic.
Transportation appointments are available for Monday, July 13th, and Monday, August 10th of this year. Participants do not have to be Starke County residents, this service is available for anyone who needs it.
Those wishing to take advantage of this transport service through the Starke County Humane Society do need to make an appointment with the Low Cost Spay and Neuter Clinic first; that can be done by calling 317-675-0072, or by visiting the clinic’s website. Transport organizers do ask pet owners to be patient while they wait for a return call, and to make sure their voicemail is available in case a message is left.
There is an exception; no appointment is required for outdoor or feral cats. Pet owners may bring up to two outdoor or feral cats on any transport day.
The feral cat package, for trapped or cats that can’t be handled, costs $60. The outdoor cat package costs $70, and is for friendly cats who are in carriers, or community cats. Both packages include a spay or neuter surgery, 3-years rabies vaccination, flea treatment, a pain medication injection, and ear tipping. There may be an additional fee for pregnant cats.
The transport is to a clinic that provides spay and neuter services and vaccinations. The transportation is offered through a program based at Starke County Humane Society, located at 0104 North State Road 10 in North Judson. Pet check-in is from 6am – 6:30am Central Time at the Humane Society, and pets are expected to return to the shelter around 7pm Central Time the same day, unless owners are notified otherwise.
Those wishing to schedule an appointment or to get more information can call 317-675-0072 or visit http://www.lowcostspayneuterindiana.org.
