The Starke County Surveyor’s Office has shared that a traveling forestry exhibit will be visiting the area this weekend.
On Saturday, June 6th, from 9am to 2pm Central Time, Woods on Wheels will be at the Kankakee State Fish and Wildlife Area.
Woods on Wheels is a family-friendly outdoor learning adventure that approaches forestry education in a hands-on, engaging, and interactive way.
Students who attend can learn about future forestry career opportunities, and parents have a chance to connect with professionals and ask questions.
The exhibit features interactive displays and games for students of all ages, and showcases information about Indiana forests, woodland management skills, and science-based lessons in forestry.
The traveling exhibit is sponsored by the Indiana Department of Natural Resources and Purdue University, and the community is invited to attend this outdoor interactive event this weekend.
