A portion of Boyd Boulevard in La Porte will be closed for utility work beginning Monday, July 27th.
According to the City of La Porte, Boyd Boulevard will be closed just south of the State Road 2 intersection while crews complete the first phase of a stormwater infrastructure improvement project.
City officials say Walmart and nearby businesses will remain open and accessible during construction. Motorists can reach the area using all three Boyd Boulevard entrances from the south or the east entrances from State Road 2.
The first phase of construction is expected to last about three weeks. Once that work is complete, construction will move to the section of Boyd Boulevard north of State Road 2 for an additional three weeks.
The city says the project is intended to improve the area’s stormwater infrastructure to support future industrial development and the continued growth of existing employers in La Porte.
Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and allow extra travel time while work is underway.
