The announcement shared that there will be a Heat Advisory going into effect along and north of US 24 from Noon to 8pm Eastern Time tomorrow, Tuesday July 14th.

Heat safety tips shared by the Weather Service for temperatures this high include:

  • Avoid strenuous outdoor activities
  • Wear light, loose-fitting clothing
  • Take breaks in shaded or air conditioned locations
  • Stay hydrated
  • Recognize the signs of heat illness
  • Never leave children or pets unattended in vehicles

The report indicates that there is some uncertainty on how humid it will be later in the week, meaning the Heat Advisory may be extended or re-declared as we hit the end of the week.
