Knox Community School Corporation shared on Tuesday that it has completed several improvement projects across the district over the summer break months, in preparation for the start of the 2026-2027 school year.
The announcement shared that the district’s summer projects included resurfacing the administration building and middle school parking lots, installing a protective roof covering over Weinberg Gym, adding new mulch to the preschool playground, and construction on a new outdoor learning space and playground at the middle school, with support from the middle school Parent Teacher Organization.
The corporation also installed new vertical heating, ventilation and air conditioning units in middle school classrooms to improve air quality and student comfort, replaced ceiling tiles in middle school classrooms and portions of the hallways, and installed new carpet in multiple classrooms and other spaces throughout the district.
School officials said the projects were completed as part of the corporation’s ongoing efforts to provide safe, welcoming and high-quality learning environments for students and staff. Officials also thanked the district’s maintenance and custodial teams for their work completing the improvements over the summer.
