Knox Community School Corporation to hold board meeting and executive session July 6

The Knox Community School Corporation’s Board of School Trustees will be holding a regular session followed by an executive session this upcoming Monday, July 6th.

The regular session is scheduled to begin at 6pm Central Time and will be held in Knox Community School Corporation’s administrative building board room.

During the regular session, the board will adopt the agenda and vote on the approval of minutes from its June 15th meeting and executive session.

There will be a section of the meeting set aside for public comments on agenda items, followed by a personnel report during which the board will discuss one resignation and two new hires. Board members will also consider claims, and Neola Administrative Guidelines. The NEOLA guidelines will be voted on during the board’s July 20th Board meeting.

There will be a public hearing during the school board meeting, in referenced to Ed-Flex waivers for increased flexibility in paraprofessional requirements, and in Title IV spending requirements. Knox Community School Corporation is seeking a waiver for increased flexibility in the hiring process of paraprofessionals at all schools.

Information included on the agenda shares that KCSC anticipates an increase of 5% of more in student performance in ELA, math, and reading assessment scores with the approval of the waivers.

Board members will receive an update on the high school construction project, followed by a section of the meeting for public comment on non-agenda items. After any comments and questions from administrators and the board, the meeting will be adjourned.

Directly following the regular board meeting will be an executive session. In accordance with Indiana’s Open Meeting Law, it has been shared that the topic of this executive session is to discuss a job performance evaluation of individual employees.

While the regular board meeting is open to the public, executive sessions are not.
