ProPEL State Road 2 Study Team to host community office hours for public input

The ProPEL State Road 2 Study Team will host three community office hours in August to gather public input on the future of the State Road 2 corridor in La Porte and St. joseph counties.

Residents, business owners and other community members are invited to ask questions, share feedback and speak one-on-one with members of the study team as it works to identify current transportation needs and develop a long-term vision for the corridor.

The first office hours session will be held Saturday, August 1st, during the Summer Blooms Market at 2455 East State Road 2 in Rolling Prairie, from 10am to 4pm Central Time.

Additional office hours are scheduled for Tuesday, August 18th, from 11am to 1pm Central Time at the St. Joseph County Library Western Branch in South Bend and from 2pm to 4pm Central Time at the New Carlisle Olive Township Library.

Community members may also submit questions and comments online through the study website at ProPELSR2.com/contact. Additional office hours are planned throughout the study area as the project continues.

The ProPEL State Road 2 study covers a 13-mile section of State Road 2 from U.S. 20 in La Porte County to U.S. 20/U.S. 31 in St. Joseph County. According to the study team, the project is intended to identify transportation needs, improve safety and mobility, and develop recommendations for future improvements along the corridor.
