Pulaski County bridge work being conducted

The Pulaski County Highway Department is reminding residents that La Porte Construction crews have started CCMG bridge projects this week.

The projects were scheduled to begin the week of July 20th – 24th, and consists of work taking place on 17 different bridges across the county.

The construction work will consist of milling the existing bridge decks, replacing the wearing membrane, and installing a new bridge deck overlay.

The bridges will be closed while under construction. If the bridges are not barricaded, they can be driven on.

According to the county, the bridges that will be worked on first include:

Crews are expected to begin work on the following bridges:

  • Bridge 66-00173 over Indian Creek on Base Road between 950 South and 1000 South.
  • Bridge 66-00221 over Indian Creek on 300 East between 900 South and 1000 South.
  • Bridge 66-00227 over Indian Creek on 600 East between 900 South and 1000 South.
  • Bridge 66-00229 over Grass Creek on 600 East between 800 South and 900 South.
  • Bridge 66-00225 over Indian Creek on 500 East between 900 South and 1000 South.

The highway department also says the following bridges will be closed for one to two weeks:

  • Bridge 66-00067 over Weltzin Ditch on 550 West between 850 South and 900 South.
  • Bridge 66-00166 over Indian Creek on 200 West between 900 South and 1000 South.

Highway officials apologize for any inconvenience and ask motorists to use caution and plan alternate routes while work is underway.
