Pulaski County to hold informational work session on local tax law changes

Pulaski County officials will host a public informational work session later this month to discuss recent changes to Indiana’s Local Income Tax law, and the possible formation of a Municipal Unit Strategic Taskforce, also known as MUST.

The session is scheduled for Tuesday, July 21, at 10am Eastern Time at the Eastern Pulaski Middle/High School Auditorium, which is located at 715 School Drive in Winamac.

According to a public notice issued by the county, the meeting will provide an overview of recent legislation that affects Indiana’s Local Income Tax, explain the purpose and requirements of the Municipal Unit Strategic Taskforce process, and discuss how the changes could affect local government funding and services in Pulaski County.

Representatives from the county, its municipalities, and other local governmental units are expected to attend the work session.

It was emphasized that this meeting is informational only. No formal recommendations or decisions regarding local income tax distributions will be made during the session.

Additional meetings may be scheduled as the Municipal Unit Strategic Taskforce process moves forward.

The public is invited to attend this meeting.
