Families are invited to spend Friday learning about child safety while enjoying free activities, entertainment, and food during La Porte County Safe Kids Day this week.
This free event will be held this Friday, July 10th, from 11am to 2pm Central Time at the La Porte County Family Resource Center. The Resource Center is located at 1232 W. State Road 2 in La Porte.
Safe Kids Day is designed to help children and families learn about injury prevention and other safety topics through interactive activities and demonstrations. Organizers shared that the event will also feature games, entertainment, prize drawings, and opportunities to meet local first responders and other community partners.
A free meal will be provided for families during the event.
More than a dozen organizations are expected to participate, including Franciscan Health, the La Porte County Family Resource Center, Geminus, the Indiana Department of Child Services, the La Porte County Health Department, Healthcare Foundation of La Porte, United Healthcare, the Michigan City Police Department, and several other local agencies and organizations.
