Eligible Hoosiers affected by the recent storms across Indiana can request up to $5,000 in emergency assistance through the State Disaster Relief Fund.
The emergency aid grants can be used to help replace basic items such as food and clothing, for Hoosiers in need of assistance after recent storms.
Applications for the State Disaster Relief Fund can be submitted by calling Indiana 211 or on the Indiana Department of Homeland Security’s website.
The state is also collecting damage reports through Indiana 211, and information submitted through those reports will be used to analyze and determine recovery needs. Citizens in need of assistance may also call 211 to get connected with local resources and services.
Emergency replacement SNAP benefits have also been activated for eligible recipients who lost food due to the storms.
Affected SNAP recipients must submit an affidavit for replacement benefits within 10 days of the event, and the loss must be verified. The affidavit may be uploaded through the FSSA Benefits Portal or dropped off at a Division of Family Resources office.
Additional information and resources regarding the August 2026 storms are available through the Indiana Department of Homeland Security website.
