The Knox Community Middle School announced a ribbon cutting ceremony for its new Learn and Play outdoor center.
The ceremony will take place next Wednesday, August 19th, at 4:45pm Central Time at the Knox Middle School. The outdoor pavilion is located on the Bower Street side of the middle school.
The project, led by the Knox Middle School PTO, reached its crowdfunding goal earlier this year, and was able to receive a matching grant as part of the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority’s CreatINg Places program.
The space will serve nearly 500 Knox children in grades 5-8. It will make outdoor instruction more accessible for teachers, and there are plans to use it for community events as well, such as the middle school’s annual block party and Trunk-or-Treat events.
The announcement about the ribbon-cutting ceremony stated that following the ceremony, the Knox Middle School PTO will hold a meeting at 5pm Central Time in the Middle School’s Redskin Room. PTO meetings are open to the public.
