The Food Bank of Northern Indiana has announced its Mobile Food Distribution dates for August 2026, including a distribution in La Porte County, and one in Starke County.
The Food Bank of Northern Indiana will host a mobile food pantry in La Porte County on Wednesday, August 12th from 10am to noon Central Time while supplies last. It will be at the Last Resort Campground, located at 4707 West 1300 South in Hanna. This distribution is sponsored by Citizens Concerned for the Homeless and will serve 100 households.
In Starke County, there will be a mobile food distribution taking place on Friday, August 14th from 10am to noon Central Time, also while supplies last. The distribution will take place at the Starke County Fairgrounds, located at 400 Division Street in Hamlet. This distribution is provided by the USDA and Starke County Health Department, and will serve 150 households.
Both of these distribution events offer assorted food items free of charge, for households in need of food assistance. Items are pre-boxed and pre-bagged and are distributed on a first come, first served basis while supplies last.
These distributions are drive-through, meaning participants should remain in their vehicle and open their trunk to receive items. There will also be a self-loading area available for those whose trunks do not open.
