Oregon-Davis School Board to meet August 5th

The Oregon-Davis School Corporation will hold a regular school board meeting this Wednesday, August 5th.

The meeting is scheduled to begin at 7pm Central Time at the Oregon-Davis Elementary School, which is located at 5860 North 750 East in Hamlet. The meeting will be held in Room 125.

After the meeting is opened with its call to order, Pledge of Allegiance, and Roll Call, the meeting will move to its Consent Agenda. Board members will vote on the approval of minutes from their July 15th meeting, as well as the approval of any financial reports, travel, facility requests, field trips, fundraisers, and donations.

A professional development request will be made for the Indiana Principal Leadership Institute Meeting in Indianapolis. There will also be a field trip request to the State Fair Grounds for the Archery Club to work the National Archery in the Schools Program booth.

Donations the board will consider include a $5,200 donation to both the Elementary Student Incentives and High School Student Incentives Funds; and a donation to the Athletics Fund from the Athletics Boosters in the amount of $12,417.60.

The Board will consider several personnel recommendations, including the hiring of paraprofessionals, extracurricular coaching appointments, and more. The board will consider multiple new hires and one resignation.

There are several items listed under the Discussion and Action items for the Board to discuss and vote on, including adult meal prices and multiple handbooks such as the Administrative Handbook, the Transportation Handbook, handbooks for staff and students at the Pre-School, Elementary, and Junior/Senior High School levels, among others.

After any other business that may come before the board, and relevant reports from school officials, the meeting will be adjourned.

The public is invited to attend this meeting, and public comment will be taken prior to each vote during the meeting.
