Oregon-Davis School Board to meet this evening

The Oregon-Davis School Board will meet today, Wednesday, August 19th at 6pm Central Time at the Oregon-Davis Elementary School. The school is located at 5860 North 750 East in Hamlet.

During the meeting, the board will discuss the approval of minutes from its August 5th meeting, as well as financial reports including claims, payroll register, and reports for appropriations, funds, and revenue.

Board members will also consider several travel, field trip, fundraiser and personnel requests.

Among the proposed field trips is a trip to Washington, D.C. for 12th grade government and history students. Other proposed trips include activities for fourth grade students, Indiana Studies students and FFA members.

The consent agenda also includes acceptance of a $400 donation from the Hamlet Fire Department to the Archery Club for working the 4-H booth.

Personnel recommendations on this agenda include a permanent substitute psychology and sociology teacher, a mentor teacher, and volleyball coach recommendations.

The board is also scheduled to conduct first readings of a number of school board policy updates, including a nondiscrimination update.

Reports from the superintendent and principals and board comments are scheduled before adjournment.

This meeting is open to the public.
