
The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning in effect for Starke County and the surrounding areas.
At the time of this article, the warning was in place until 10:45am Central Time, and warned of destructive, baseball-sized hail.
People in the areas are instructed to take shelter in a sturdy building, away from any windows. The alert states that people and animals outdoors will be severely injured.
The alert goes on to warn: Prepare immediately for large hail and damaging winds. People outside should move to a shelter, inside a strong building, and away from windows.
Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
