Starke County Board of Zoning Appeals to consider two variance requests

The Starke County Board of Zoning Appeals will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, September 9, where board members will hear two variance requests.

The meeting is scheduled for 6:30pm Central Time, or immediately following the Starke County Plan Commission meeting, at the Starke County Annex 1 Meeting Room located at 53 East Mound Street in Knox.

The first petition is a variance request to construct a 36-by-26-foot accessory structure on property without a primary dwelling. The property is located in San Pierre.

The second petition the board will hear seeks a waiver of a Board of Zoning Appeals filing fee due to an administrative error, and a variance request. The request is to construct a second story on a currently non-conforming garage due to setback requirements. The property is located in Knox.

After a section of the meeting set aside for public and Board member comments, the meeting will be adjourned.

All interested individuals will have an opportunity to be heard at this meeting. Written statements may be submitted up to four hours before the hearing and will be included in the official record.
