CULVER – In August The Culver Town Council gave Police Chief Chad Becker permission to advertise for candidates to fill a full time vacancy on his staff and Becker came before the Council on Thursday Sept. 24 with his recommendation.
Becker said, “My staff and I met with the interested candidate who had turned in a letter of interest, and after going through that interview process and knowing the officer, who has worked for us since the beginning of the year, I come to you tonight with a request to hire that particular officer and change his status from part-time status to full-time status. So I bring to you tonight the name of Robert Williams Jr.”
Becker said that Williams already had three years of service with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department, was currently a part time officer in his department, and was also already Police Academy trained. He said those factors would make for a quick transition for his team.
The Council unanimously approved Williams as the towns new full time officer.
