An environmental education workshop will be held Friday, September 18th at Bass Lake Beach in Knox.
Indiana Project WET and Project Learning Tree will host the free Forests & Watersheds workshop from 10am to 3pm Eastern Time. The workshop will focus on ways educators can teach middle and high school students about Indiana watersheds.
Participants will take part in mapping, modeling and field activities around Bass Lake while learning about how water moves through the environment. The workshop will also include information about using the U.S. Forest Service’s Forests to Faucets data explorer to learn more about local watersheds.
Attendees will receive the Water in Earth Systems guidebook from Project WET and the Forests, the Water & People guidebook from Project Learning Tree, and other resources that can be used in the classroom.
The workshop will be held at Bass Lake Beach, which is located at 5837 South State Road 10 in Knox. Participants should bring a water bottle and lunch and dress for the weather, as some activities will be held outside.
