The Food Bank of Northern Indiana has announced that it will hold three mobile food distributions in La Porte County as part of its storm recovery response.
The first distribution will be tomorrow, Tuesday, September 29th from 10am to 11:30am Central Time at Prairie Meadow Park, located at the corner of 421 and U.S. 6 in Westville.
Two distributions are scheduled for Thursday, October 1st. The first will be from 9am to 10:30am Central Time at the Pax Center, which is at 605 Washington Street in La Porte. The second will be from 11:30am to 1pm Central Time, and will be held at the Salvation Army located at 3240 Monroe Street in La Porte.
Each distribution will serve 100 households. Food included will include tomatoes, sweet potatoes, apples, oranges, onions, ground beef, chicken leg quarters, squash, milk, bread, ketchup, and mustard.
The distributions are drive-through. Participants are asked to remain in their vehicles and open their trunks to receive items. Food will be available free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last, with one box available per household.
These distributions are sponsored by the NiSource Charitable Foundation and the Unity Foundation of La Porte County.
