Knox City Council to meet September 22

The Knox City Council will hold a regular meeting this upcoming Tuesday, when it will consider adoption of the city’s 2027 budget.

The council held a public hearing on the proposed budget on September 8th, with final adoption scheduled for the September 22nd meeting.

Other items on the agenda include approval of minutes from the August 25th regular meeting and September 8th special meeting.

During the council’s previous regular meeting August 25th, officials reported the new skate park had been completed and opened, but was temporarily closed due to vandalism.

The council also received an update on the second round of the Community Crossings Matching Grant program. Plans include sidewalks, curbs and handicap-accessible ramps in multiple places in downtown Knox.

This upcoming meeting will also include citizen comments, reports from the Clerk-Treasurer and Mayor, and any other relevant council items. Council members are also expected to sign vouchers.

The meeting is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, September 22nd at 5pm Central Time at Knox City Hall, located at 101 West Washington Street in Knox.

The agenda states that claims will be available for council members beginning at 4:55pm Central Time.

An executive session is also scheduled to take place at 4:45pm, prior to the regular meeting.

The public is invited to attend the City Council meeting, though executive sessions are not open to the public.
