
The Indiana Department of Environmental Management was notified September 3 of a petroleum release, spill or overfill at a facility in Knox.
According to a public notice, the incident was reported by the owner or operator of the GPM #25306 facility, located at 910 South Heaton Street in Knox.
The notice was issued as part of a state requirement for local health departments to inform the public when regulated substances are discovered to have been released at an underground or aboveground storage tank site, in the surrounding area, or when a spill or overfill occurs.
The notice does not provide additional information about the amount or circumstances of the release.
