The U.S. Small Business Administration has announced that residents, businesses and nonprofit organizations in Pulaski County affected by the August severe weather may be eligible for disaster loans through the organization.
Pulaski County was designated as a primary county for assistance following the Presidential Disaster Declaration issued August 25th for severe storms, tornadoes and flooding that began August 11th and continued.
Businesses and private nonprofit organizations can apply for loans of up to $2 million to repair or replace damaged real estate, machinery, equipment, inventory and other business assets.
Homeowners can apply for up to $500,000 for repairs to their primary residence, while renters may apply for up to $100,000 for damaged personal property.
Economic Injury Disaster Loans are also available to eligible small businesses, small agricultural cooperatives and private nonprofit organizations, including faith-based organizations. The loans are intended to address working capital needs caused by the disaster and may be available even when an organization did not sustain physical damage.
Applicants may also qualify for mitigation assistance to make improvements intended to reduce the risk of future disaster damage.
The deadline to apply for physical damage loans is October 25th. The deadline for Economic Injury Disaster Loans is May 25th, 2027.
Applications can be submitted through the MySBA Loan Portal.
