Starke County BZA to consider variance requests at October meeting

The Starke County Board of Zoning Appeals will consider several variance requests during its Wednesday, October 14th meeting.

The meeting will begin at 6:30pm Central Time, or immediately following the Plan Commission meeting, in Meeting Room 153 of the Starke County Annex 1 building.

Under old business, the board will consider a request to keep the existing upper level of a garage as a dwelling. The property is located on Anderson Drive in Walkerton.

Under new business, an individual is requesting a variance from developmental standards for property on County Road 210 in Knox. The request would allow a 30-foot setback from the centerline of the road instead of the required 45 feet.

Another request to be considered is a variance for property on South Street in Walkerton. The request would allow a four-foot setback from the side lot line instead of the required five feet.

A variance is being requested to construct a two-story garage without a principal dwelling on property on Toto Road in San Pierre.

An updated agenda item also adds a request for an extension for a previously approved variance that is set to expire November 14th to Old Business.

There will be a section of the meeting for public comment and comments from BZA members before the meeting is adjourned.

The public is invited to attend this meeting.
