The Starke County Commissioners discussed concerns about the condition of County Road 450 during their September 8th meeting.
One of the commissioners said he drove the road that morning after questions were raised about its condition. He noted several areas of concern, including uneven spots in the roadway and areas where the edges of the pavement weave in and out.
Commissioners also discussed concerns about the edge of the pavement creating a potential hazard if a vehicle gets off the roadway.
The commissioners discussed placing temporary warning or slow signs along the road and contacting the highway superintendent about the concerns. Commissioners also planned to inspect the road themselves and discussed the possibility of holding an emergency meeting if further action is needed.
