
The Starke County Coroner’s Office has released its office statistics as of August 31st of this year.
According to the information released, there were a total of 4 calls during the month of August. 3 of the cases were found to be natural causes, and one case was still pending as of the end of the month.
Including the month of August, the Coroner’s Office has handled a total of 48 calls in 2026 so far. 41 of those deaths were found to be from natural causes.
Two deaths this year in Starke County were ruled as a drug overdose, two were classified as motor vehicle accidents, and two were found to be an accident or other.
Other possible listed causes of death include suicide, homicide, and undetermined.
