Starke County Sheriff’s Office will not renew Flock camera contract

The Starke County Sheriff’s Office announced Tuesday that it will not renew its contract for Flock cameras in Starke County.

According to the department, Sheriff Jack Rosa made the decision while also recognizing benefits associated with the use of the cameras.

The Sheriff’s Office says it has followed its standard operating procedures regarding use of the cameras but has decided against renewing the contract in what Rosa described as the best interest of the community.

The department said maintaining community trust through transparency and open communication was also a factor in the decision.

The announcement did not specify when the current contract expires or when use of the Flock cameras will end.
