Artists sought for Bass Lake Beach public art project

Starke County Parks and Recreation is seeking an artist to design and install an outdoor sculpture or artistic installation at Bass Lake Beach in 2027.

The project is intended to bring a new piece of public art to the beach that compliments the setting, welcomes visitors of all ages, and can withstand Indiana’s changing weather conditions throughout the year.

The selected artist will receive a $5,000 stipend, paid in two installments, and will be responsible for creating, transporting, and installing the artwork.

The project will follow a February through August 2027 timeline, with the artist working alongside the project lead. Once completed, the installation will become part of the Starke County Public Arts Trail.

The project is a collaboration between Starke County Parks and Recreation, the Starke County Convention and Visitors Commission, and the Starke County Community Foundation.

Artists interested in applying must submit their applications by Friday, December 18th.
