The Food Bank of Northern Indiana has announced two mobile food distributions coming to La Porte and Starke counties in October.
The La Porte County distribution will be held Wednesday, October 14th from 10am to noon Central Time at Rolling Prairie United Methodist Church, located at 3444 U.S. Highway 20 East in Rolling Prairie. The distribution is sponsored by Citizens Concerned for the Homeless and is expected to serve 150 households.
The Starke County distribution is scheduled for Friday, October 30th from 9:30 to 11am Central at the San Pierre Fire Department, at 102 Fisher Street in San Pierre. The distribution is sponsored by the USDA and Starke County Health Department and is expected to serve 150 households.
Assorted food items will be provided free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last. Food will be pre-boxed and pre-bagged, with one box or bag available per household.
Both distributions will be drive-through. Participants should remain in their vehicles and open their trunks to receive food. An area will also be available for participants who need to load the food themselves.
