Knox continues work on comprehensive plan, seeks public input

The City of Knox is continuing its efforts to update its comprehensive plan, with a public survey available for residents to provide input on the city’s future.

During the Knox City Council meeting Tuesday, October 27th, Mayor Dennis Estok provided an update on the planning process, which is expected to continue into 2027.

The city’s current comprehensive plan dates back to 2015. As previously reported by WKVI, the city is pursuing a grant of up to $50,000 through the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs (OCRA) to help fund the update. The city would be responsible for a $5,600 local match.

Estok reported that the city has received qualifications from multiple companies interested in the project. A scoring committee will be established to evaluate the submissions.

During a September special meeting, officials indicated that the grant application was expected to be submitted in early November, with a potential funding decision in January 2027.

Residents are encouraged to participate in the comprehensive planning process by completing the community survey, which is available on the City of Knox website and on WKVI’s Community page.
