The City of Knox has launched a new Tree Waste Reduction Program to make usable firewood available to residents.
According to an announcement from Knox Mayor Dennis Estok, the Knox Street Department will set aside usable firewood collected throughout the city rather than disposing of it in the city’s compost pile.
The program is intended to reduce the amount of usable firewood being discarded while providing residents with an opportunity to obtain it.
Residents interested in obtaining firewood can contact Street Superintendent Jason Cornelius at 574-772-3825 or by email at knoxmvm@cityofknox.net.
