Knox Redevelopment Commission to review plans for downtown property

The Knox Redevelopment Commission and Knox City Council will hold a joint work session Thursday, October 29th, at 9am Central Time at Knox City Hall.

The work session will include a discussion of architectural renderings prepared by Abonmarche for the city-owned property at 18 South Main Street.

During the Redevelopment Commission’s September meeting, officials discussed several potential uses for the property, including a courtyard, pop-up retail spaces, and mixed-use development featuring retail businesses and apartments.

Other possibilities discussed included outdoor seating, vendor markets, and short-term rental accommodations.

City officials indicated that public input would be sought before final decisions are made regarding the property’s redevelopment.

Following the work session, the Redevelopment Commission will hold its regular meeting, which includes discussions about building facades and consideration of approval for a mural at 6 North Main Street.

Both meetings will take place at Knox City Hall and both are open to the public.
