Knox School Board to consider employee pay increases, classroom supply stipends, Monday

The Knox Community School Board will consider employee pay increases, classroom supply stipends, and other matters during its meeting this upcoming Monday, October 12th.

The board will begin with approval of previous meeting minutes, public comments, and personnel recommendations involving resignations, new hires, a transfer, a termination, and extracurricular appointments.

Under business, the board will hold a public hearing on the proposed 2027 budget, Capital Projects Fund Plan, and Bus Replacement Fund Plan. The board is also scheduled to consider setting a budget adoption meeting for October 26th.

Members will then review the treasurer’s report, vendor usage report, claims, donations, fundraisers, proposed 2027 board meeting dates, and an affidavit for payment.

The board will also consider a proposed $1 per hour pay increase for classified employees, with an additional $3 added to the daily base rate for bus drivers. The proposed increases would be retroactive to July 1st, 2026.

Another recommendation would offer Chat RX, a telehealth program, to employees who are not eligible for health insurance through the school corporation. The program would cost $4 per month per participating employee, paid by the corporation.

The board will also consider a one-time $100 classroom supply stipend for teachers and a bid recommendation for the pool air handling unit.

The Knox Community School Board will meet Monday, October 12th at 6pm Central Time in the school corporation’s Administrative Office.

This meeting is open to the public.
