The City of Knox Water Department will begin flushing fire hydrants throughout the city Monday, October 12th.
According to a press release from Knox Mayor Dennis Estok, crews will flush hydrants during the overnight hours from 9pm to 5am, beginning Monday, October 12th and continuing through Friday, October 16th.
Residents may notice their tap water appearing brown as a result of the flushing. City officials say the water is safe to drink and can be cleared by running cold water from a bathtub or outside faucet.
